I don’t know how much trouble I can get in for saying this, but the company I used to work for had software that would tell us exactly how much the shirt or whatever you wanted originally cost and how much we were selling for. Sometimes the mark-ups were even bigger than that.
It’s called business you stupid motherfuckers. How else do you think the retailer is going to make money? Profit is the point of a retail business (among most others) What do you expect, the retailer to give you the shirt for what they pay for it? Say a clothing store in a mall, they have to pay the employees, they have to pay for the clothes, they have to pay (crazy) rent, they have to pay for utilities, and a bunch of other shit. So for this shirt to be sold to you in a goddamn mall, it is costing them much more than what it cost them to buy the stupid shirt. What’s left, is their profit. That’s how a business works. Dig your heads out of your asses.
